Texans release Daniels, McCain

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Texans released tight end Owen Daniels and cornerback Brice McCain on Tuesday
The moves will save the Texans $5.4 million under the salary cap, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Daniels played in five games in 2013 before fracturing his fibula, ending the campaign with 24 catches for 252 yards and three touchdowns. In eight seasons, all with Houston, Daniels had 385 catches for 4,617 yards and 29 touchdowns.

McCain appeared in 16 games last season, recording 32 tackles and one interception. In five seasons with the Texans, he had 124 tackles, five interceptions and one touchdown.
