Sweden women's soccer coach quits following Olympic loss
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Sweden women's coach Thomas Dennerby has decided to call it quits, ending a seven-year tenure that saw his team clinch the bronze medal in the 2011 World Cup.
Dennerby did not give a reason Wednesday for his departure, saying only that the decision to leave on Sept. 15 -- two months before his contract expired -- is his own.
Sweden lost to France in the quarterfinals of the London Olympics.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Dennerby's replacement is undecided, but in an interview with Swedish news agency TT last year, US coach Pia Sundhage was quoted as saying she would be interested.
