Sutton's brace helps Motherwell draw Hibernian

Edinburgh, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - John Sutton's second goal of the day came in stoppage time on Saturday to rescue a point for Motherwell in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road.

Sutton opened the scoring for Motherwell just 12 minutes into the match and Lionel Ainsworth found the back of the net just prior to the half-hour mark to give the visitors a quick two-goal lead.

But Hibernian answered with three straight goals from Jordan Forster, Michael Nelson and Paul Heffernan for a 3-2 lead with 11 minutes to play.

It appeared that the hosts would come away with all three points, but Sutton completed his brace in the second minute of stoppage time to secure a point for his side.

The result sees Motherwell improve to 51 points from 28 matches, good for third place in the Scottish Premier League, while Hibernian remains in seventh place with 33 points.

Also in Scotland on Saturday, Kilmarnock earned a 4-2 victory over Hearts on the strength of a brace from Kris Boyd along with goals from Michael Gardine and an own goal by Hearts' Danny Wilson.

Kilmarnock improves to 30 points, while Hearts remains at the foot of the table with six points.
