Stohl, Sikma help Portland beat San Diego 79-64

Jared Stohl hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points to lead Portland to a 79-64 victory over San Diego on Thursday night.
Luke Sikma added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Pilots (15-6, 3-3 West Coast Conference), who broke a two-game skid. Freshman Tim Douglas, making his first start of the season, had 14 points and six assists.
The Toreros (4-17, 0-6), who were led by Chris Gabriel's 13 points, shot just 39.6 percent (21 of 53), while Portland hit 49 percent (27 of 55). The Pilots also had a 38-26 advantage on the boards but hit just 9 of 24 shots from beyond the arc.

The Pilots led the entire way. San Diego let Portland push its advantage to 65-43 before reeling off 11 unanswered points to narrow the gap to 65-54 with 5:15 left.
But Portland held a 14-10 edge the rest of the way.
