Steelers' Taylor suffers broken thumb

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor 7 exhibition loss to the Washington Redskins.

Taylor, who re-signed with the Steelers during the offseason, suffered the injury on the second play of the game and was removed late in the first quarter.

"He could be out for a couple of weeks or so," said Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. "Whether that will require surgery remains to be seen, but he did break his left thumb."

Originally selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft, Taylor has accumulated 481 tackles and 11 interceptions in eight seasons with the Steelers.
