Steelers hire Joey Porter as defensive assistant coach
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Former Steelers linebacker Joey Porter has rejoined the team as a defensive assistant coach.
Porter was originally drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played with Pittsburgh from 1999-2006 and helped the club to a victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL.
The 36-year-old Porter also played for the Miami Dolphins (2007-09) and Arizona Cardinals (2010-11). For his career, the four-time Pro Bowl selection registered 98 sacks, 25 forced fumbles, 12 interceptions, nine fumble recoveries, three touchdowns and one safety. He recorded 60 sacks as a member of the Steelers.
