Stars coach Hughes injured when player runs him over on sideline

Ivory Latta made two free throws with 6 seconds left and finished with 23 points in the Washington Mystics' 66-63 victory over San Antonio on Wednesday night in a game marred by an injury to Stars coach Dan Hughes.
Hughes was accidentally knocked over the sideline chairs by a hustling Danielle Robinson at the 4:46 mark of the second quarter. He immediately winced in pain and was carted off on a stretcher.
Hughes was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center because of a lower back injury. He will return home with the team Thursday and is expected to be on the sideline Saturday at home against Seattle.

The Stars closed the half on a 15-2 run for a 38-27 lead.
"I already thought they had started to get the momentum right then but we were trying to stave them off but clearly it refocused them, it's a scary thing, a very scary thing," Washington coach Mike Thibault said. "That's probably a more concern of mine then the actual game. Hopefully he's doing well."
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Tayler Hill made Washington's first field goal of the fourth quarter at the 2:35 mark for a 64-56 lead. San Antonio scored the next seven, capped by Jia Perkins' 3-pointer with 44 seconds left. After a Washington miss and a San Antonio turnover, Latta made her free throws and Perkins had a 3-pointer roll out at the buzzer.
Washington (12-7) won its fourth straight home game, while San Antonio (6-16) lost its 11th in a row on the road.
Perkins scored 23 points, Kayla McBride had 18 and Sophia Young-Malcolm added 17 for San Antonio. The trio combined to score all but five of San Antonio points.
