Stanford tops Indiana to stay alive

Bloomington, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach Hoffpauir, Brant Whiting and Wayne Taylor all homered and Stanford beat Indiana 10-7 on Sunday to stay alive in the NCAA regionals.

Stanford scored three times in the top of the ninth inning to take a 10-6 lead and held on to force a second game between the teams on Monday with the winner moving on to the best-of-three super regionals.

Top-seeded Indiana suffered its first loss.

Stanford, seeded No. 3, eliminated fourth-seeded Youngstown State earlier on Sunday with a 12-4 win.

The fourth team in the regional, No. 2 Indiana State, lost its only two games to be eliminated.
