Spoelstra, McHale named top coaches for February
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat and Kevin McHale of the Houston Rockets have been named the NBA's Coaches of the Month for February.
Spoelstra guided the Heat to a league-best 9-1 record during February, with Miami winning five of those contests by double figures, including the last three. Miami went 3-0 at home and 6-1 on the road. Five of the road wins came against Western Conference playoffs teams.
McHale led the Rockets to a Western Conference best 8-2 record during the month. Houston averaged 111.9 points, while holding opponents to 102.2 points per game. The 9.7 point differential led the West and was second in the NBA behind Miami (10.0).
