Slam-dunking referee steals the show at high school basketball tournament

A referee at a Missouri high school basketball tournament let the players shine -- before he took them all to school.

A video posted to Instagram by Josh Philips showed the referee at the National Homeschool Tournament at Missouri State University in Springfield shooting a 3-point basket from outside the paint, then running toward the hoop and scoring a slam dunk.

The tournament star’s identity was revealed: He's Tim Huskisson, a Missouri native who once played basketball for the University of Northern Colorado.

Huskisson told UPI players had been requesting a dunk all week long throughout the tournament, but he waited until the end to make sure he did not steal the spotlight from the young athletes.
