Serena moves on in Brisbane

Playing her first match since losing set victory over South African Chanelle Scheepers.

The fourth-seeded Williams earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory Monday on the hardcourts at Queensland Tennis Centre.

Williams notched a 22-3 record during a shortened 2011 season, but one of those defeats came to Australian Samantha Stosur in the title match in Flushing. Stosur is the top seed at her home tourney this week.
