Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Shakayla Thomas came off the bench to net 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting to lead her second-seeded Florida State Seminoles to a 65-47 victory over the seventh-seeded Florida Gulf Coast Eagles in the second round of the NCAA Women's Tournament at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Leticia Romero tallied 11 points for Florida State (31-4), adding in seven rebounds, six assists and five turnovers to her stat line. Adut Bulgak narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds in the win.

The Seminoles advance to the Sweet 16 and will take on the third-seeded Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday.

Taylor Gradinjan scored 12 points off the bench to pace FGCU (31-3), which snapped a 26-game win streak for the Eagles. Whitney Knight added in nine points with four rebounds and four blocked shots in the defeat.

Florida State limited the Eagles to a mere 30.9 percent shooting from the floor in the contest, and doubled up FGCU on the glass by outrebounding the Eagles, 46-23.
