PULLMAN, Wash. – Mike Scott and Connor Hill both scored 19 points Wednesday night to lead Idaho to a 77-71 nonconference win over Washington State.
Sekou Wiggs added 12 points for the Vandals (3-3), who had lost 11 consecutive games against Washington State (3-4) since a 62-58 victory on Dec. 4, 2002. The Cougars had defeated Idaho in 13 straight home games since losing 56-52 on Dec. 14, 1989.
DaVonte Lacy led Washington State with 17 points, but was 5 for 18 from the field, including 3 for 13 on 3-pointers. Josh Hawkinson had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Ike Iroegbu scored 13 points.
The Vandals bolted to a 14-2 lead but trailed for brief periods early in the second half. Idaho led 32-31 at halftime.
The Vandals shot 35.2 percent from the field and 36.8 percent on 3-pointers. The Cougars shot 35.2 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from distance.
