Metairie, LA – New Orleans Saints cornerback Tracy Porter was back with the team one day after being carted off the field with a neck injury following a scary collision.
Saints coach Sean Payton said Porter was in the training room Monday despite going to the hospital on Sunday after getting hurt on the second play from scrimmage against Tampa Bay.
Payton said the news remained positive and Porter was dealing with soreness in his neck and chest.
A day earlier, Porter was placed on a stretcher with his head stabilized and carted off the field after hitting Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams to break up a slant pass.
He went low on the hit, throwing the top of his body into Williams' thigh to knock the receiver over.
After the game, the Saints said Porter had been transported to a hospital and checked out OK neurologically.
