Sage Northcutt: 'I'll be back better than ever'

Nineteen-year-old Sage Northcutt always seemed like the most positive person on the planet and even after tasting defeat for the first time in his young career, it's impossible keep a smile off of this young man's face.

Just 24 hours after Northcutt was submitted by Bryan Barberena at FOX UFC Fight Night in New Jersey, he took to Twitter to promise that he would make a triumphant comeback.

"Thank you all for the support this weekend and everybody that tuned in and watched. I'll be back better than ever!" Northcutt wrote.

The message was accompanied by a video that seemed to sum up the fact that a loss isn't going to keep the kid down as he smiled from ear to ear while once again proclaiming that he would be return before attempting to shoot a basketball while riding around on a hover board.

It all sounds quite surreal but when it comes to Northcutt, this just seems to be another chapter added onto his growing public persona.

As for his professional aspirations, Northcutt actually fought three times over the span of just four months since signing with the UFC with the last one ending in the loss to Barberena.

The active schedule put Northcutt under a very bright spotlight but he seemed to handle the attention and the expectations heaped upon his shoulders very well leading into his bout on Saturday night.

Ultimately, Northcutt fell to a more experienced fighter in Barberena, who locked on an arm triangle choke before finishing the teenage prodigy in the second round.

Northcutt is now 7-1 during his professional MMA career with a 2-1 mark in the UFC.
