Sage Karam and Sebastian Saavedra to split Ganassi ride for remainder of IndyCar season

Chip Ganassi Racing will use Sage Karam and Sebastian Saavedra in its No. 8 Chevrolet the rest of the season, and Saavedra will drive a fifth entry for the team in the Indianapolis 500.

Karam is a Ganassi development driver and has driven the first two races of the IndyCar season in the car. He will be replaced by Saavedra this weekend at Long Beach, the road course race at Indianapolis and the season finale at Sonoma.

Karam will be back in the car for the race at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama and the Indianapolis 500, and is expected to stay in the No. 8 until Sonoma.

Saavedra will be backed by longtime sponsor AFS Racing/Automatic Fire Sprinklers Inc., which will also be on the car for the Indy 500.
