Russia beats Kazakhstan 4-1 at hockey worlds
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}COLOGNE, Germany (AP) — Alex Ovechkin and Washington Capitals teammate Alexander Semin have led Russia into the second round of the hockey world championships with a 4-1 victory over Kazakhstan.
Russia has won both its Group A games. Kazakhstan dropped to 0-2.
Ovechkin scored once and Semin had a goal and two assists in Tuesday's game in Cologne. Semin set up Ovechkin's goal on a power play in the 10th minute and added one of his own late in the second period.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Goals from Ilya Kovalchuck in the second period and Denis Grebeshkov in the third gave Russia a 4-0 lead. Kazakhstan got a late goal from Dmitri Dudarev.
In Group C in Mannheim, Norway beat the Czech Republic 3-2. Both teams have three points from two games.
