Carson, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Galaxy and defender Robbie Rogers have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, the club announced.
Rogers joined the Galaxy in May 2013 via trade and he has gone on to make 30 appearances for the team, including 22 starts.
The 27-year-old arrived in Los Angeles as a midfielder, but he has made the transition to left back this season, recording two assists in 15 matches.

Since first making the move to the back line on June 8 against Chivas USA, the Galaxy have recorded a 10-2-7 record and have advanced to the Western Conference finals against Seattle Sounders FC.
"We are excited that Robbie will remain a part of our organization going forward," Galaxy head coach and general manager Bruce Arena said. "He has proven to be a dynamic player in our league and an integral part of our success this year. We look forward to his continued contributions in the years to come."
Rogers started his MLS career with the Columbus Crew in 2007, and he helped lead the club to an MLS Cup in 2008 while scoring 13 goals and assisting on 16 more in over 100 appearances for the Crew.
