Rockies SS Tulowitzki heads to DL
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Rockies placed All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
The move, which is retroactive to July 20, is due to a left hip flexor strain.
Prior to this setback, the 29-year-old infielder was hitting a major-league best .340 while collecting 21 home runs, 18 doubles, 52 RBI and 71 runs scored in 91 games.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}To fill the roster spot, the Rockies recalled pitcher Yohan Flande from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start Tuesday's contest against Washington.
Flande went 0-2 with a 7.36 earned run average in three starts between June 25 and July 6.
