Roberts' 4 TDs lift Yale to 54-43 comeback win in season opener against Lehigh
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Morgan Roberts threw three touchdowns and ran in the game winner to lift Yale to a 54-43 win in its season opener over Lehigh on Saturday.
Trailing by as many as 21 points in the second quarter, the Yale comeback was sparked by a 51-yard touchdown run by Candler Rich followed by a 68-yard scoring strike from Morgan to Deon Randall, who had 13 catches for 152 yards and also ran in a score from the 20. Rich, who had 104 yards on 11 carries, hauled in a 23-yard TD pass as well.
Morgan was 30 of 39 for 356 yards and an interception. Tyler Varga had 152 yards on 19 carries, including a 19-yard touchdown in the third quarter that gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the game.
