Las Vegas, NV – Guillermo Rigondeaux earned a sixth-round knockout of Rico Ramos to earn the WBA World super bantamweight title.
Rigondeaux (9-0) dominated Ramos and put the 24-year-old down for the count in the sixth with a left to the body. The 31-year-old Rigondeaux is a two-time Olympic champion.
Ramos (20-1) was making his first title defense since earning the belt with a knockout of Akifumi Shimoda.
