Report: Sixers to use amnesty clause on Brand

The Philadelphia 76ers will reportedly use the NBA's amnesty clause on veteran forward Elton Brand,

According to csnphilly.com, this move will shed Brand's $18 million off the salary cap and will clear the way for the Sixers to sign shooting guard Nick Young to a one-year, $6 million deal as well as pursue other options.

Brand averaged 13.3 points and 7.4 rebounds in his four years with the Sixers.

Young averaged 14.2 points for the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers last season.
