(SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Yankees and second baseman Brian Roberts have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract.
According to FoxSports.com, the deal for the former Baltimore Oriole is for $2 million plus incentives.
Roberts would take over at second base for Robinson Cano, who left as a free agent and signed a 10-year contract with Seattle after nine years as a Yankee.

The 36-year-old Roberts has spent his entire 13-year career in Baltimore, but has struggled with injuries since his last full season of 2009. He played 159 games that year and batted .283 with 16 homers and 79 runs batted in while leading the majors with 56 doubles.
However, the two-time All-Star has appeared in just 192 games over the last four seasons. He played 77 games last year and hit .249 with eight homers and 39 RBI.
The Yankees previously signed free agent Kelly Johnson as a potential second base replacement and utility player.
