St. Petersburg, FL – The Tampa Bay Rays and pitcher Joel Peralta have agreed to terms on a two-year, $6 million contract, with a $2.5 million option for 2015, the Tampa Bay Times reported on Monday.
The deal is pending a physical, which may not take place until next week.
Peralta has spent the last two seasons with the Rays, pitching to a 2-6 record with a 3.63 earned run average and two saves over 76 relief appearances in 2012.
The 36-year-old right-hander has a career 10-21 record with a 3.94 ERA and 10 saves through 407 appearances for the Angels, Royals, Rockies, Nationals and Rays.
