Report: Olympic sponsors' tickets sold at markup

The BBC says Olympic tickets intended for sponsors have instead been sold to members of the public at hiked up prices. The broadcaster said Friday that many of the passes bought by British fans had originally been set aside for sponsors including Dow Chemical, Acer, and GE.The BBC says it wasn't suggesting that corporate sponsors were at fault, saying that a U.S. reseller, CoSport, "was at the heat of the allegations." The Far Hills, New Jersey-based company couldn't immediately be reached for comment. The BBC says it was alerted to the sales by purchasers who found sponsors' names stamped across their tickets.

Games' organizers said they were investigating and would take action if any reseller was in breach of the rules.
