Report: Meyer agrees to become new Ohio State coach

Urban Meyer has reportedly agreed to become the next head coach at Ohio State.

According to WKMG-TV in Orlando, Meyer has agreed to a seven-year deal worth $40 million and will be introduced at Ohio State in the coming days.

Meyer stepped down at Florida last December, citing health concerns. He spent six seasons in Gainesville and led the Gators to a record of 64-15 with a pair of national championships.

Rumors linking Meyer to Ohio State became rampant this past weekend, but he said while broadcasting the Michigan/Nebraska game that the speculation was unfounded.

Luke Fickell has been in charge of the Buckeyes program on an interim basis since June after Jim Tressel resigned in the wake of a scandal involving his supposed knowledge of players selling items and memorabilia.

Fickell has guided the Buckeyes to a record of 6-5 heading into Saturday's regular-season finale against arch-rival Michigan.

According to the report, Fickell will remain as an assistant under Meyer.
