Report: Chargers and Rams could work together on L.A. deal

Chargers owner Dean Spanos and Rams owner Stan Kroenke could curry enough ownership support to nullify the other's relocation plans.

Or, as Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego reports, the two teams could collaborate on a mutually-beneficial plan to put a team or two in Los Angeles.

Such a tactic would benefit the NFL as well. A league-wide vote wouldn't need to be issued if several plans melt into one solid one. That means owners like Spanos and Kroenke wouldn't have to oppose each other.

A drama-free approach is ideal for every team -- except the Oakland Raiders. After months of planning, the Rams might just poach their Los Angeles partner.
