Rensing joins Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen signed goalkeeper Michael Rensing to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

The former Bayern Munich goalkeeper joins the club on a free transfer after spending last season with Cologne, who let Rensing leave after the club was relegated to the second division.

"We have signed an experienced and high quality back up for our number one, Bernd Leno. We made this move as we are involved in three competitions," Bayer's managing director Wolfgang Holzhauser said on his club's website.

The 28-year-old has appeared in over 100 Bundesliga games.
