Reinstated amateur Julia Potter shot a 3-over 74 on Sunday to top stroke-play qualifying in the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur.
The 25-year-old left-hander, from Granger, Ind., had a 1-over 143 total at Biltmore Forest Country Club. The top 64 players advanced to match play in the event for players 25 and older.
"I was really afraid that I was going to be that girl who goes 69-79," Potter said. "The pin placements, compared to yesterday, are definitely in more difficult spots. Not only difficult to get to, but difficult to putt."

Potter, an event coordinator who underwent back surgery at age 16 because of scoliosis, is a former University of Missouri player who regained her amateur status last year after two seasons on the Symetra Tour.
Four-time champion Meghan Stasi of Oakland Park, Fla., was second at 6 over after a 72.
