Reds third baseman Frazier named NL Rookie of the Month

Cincinnati Reds third baseman Todd Frazier has been named National League Rookie of the Month for the month of August.

Frazier batted .330 with a .393 on-base percentage and 19 runs scored over 30 contests for the Reds in August. He also hit six home runs and drove in 25.

On the season, the 26-year-old is hitting .292 with 18 homers and 62 RBI in 109 games for the NL Central-leading Reds.

Other rookies receiving consideration included catcher Wilin Rosario and pitcher Adam Ottavino of the Colorado Rockies and New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey.
