New York, NY – Cincinnati Reds third baseman Todd Frazier has been named National League Rookie of the Month for the month of August.
Frazier batted .330 with a .393 on-base percentage and 19 runs scored over 30 contests for the Reds in August. He also hit six home runs and drove in 25.
On the season, the 26-year-old is hitting .292 with 18 homers and 62 RBI in 109 games for the NL Central-leading Reds.
Other rookies receiving consideration included catcher Wilin Rosario and pitcher Adam Ottavino of the Colorado Rockies and New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey.
