Fans cheered when Datsyuk was on the ice early in the first period for the Central Division-leading Red Wings.
Datsyuk won his third straight Selke Trophy as the NHL's top defensive forward last year. He became the first player to win the award three years in a row since Montreal's Bob Gainey won it four straight times from 1978-81.
