New York, NY – Detroit Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey has been suspended one game without pay by the NHL for charging Florida Panthers forward Tomas Kopecky on Sunday.
The suspension, announced Monday, will cost Quincey nearly $17,000 in salary.
He was given a major and game misconduct for elbowing Kopecky at 5:38 of the third period. The Red Wings won the game, 2-1, in a shootout.
