Red Sox agree to terms with 19 players

Ft. Myers, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox agreed to terms on one-year contracts with 19 players, including third baseman Will Middlebrooks, shortstop Xander Bogaerts and pitcher Felix Doubront.

Over 94 games with Boston last season, Middlebrooks batted a disappointing .227, but hit a career-high 17 homers and drove in 49 runs.

Bogaerts appeared in just 18 games for the Red Sox last season, but hit .250 with one homer and five RBI. He also played in 12 postseason contests for the defending World Series champions.

Doubront went 11-6 with a 4.32 ERA over 29 games (27 starts) last season.

The Red Sox also signed pitchers Drake Britton, Rubby De La Rosa, Anthony Ranaudo, Allen Webster, Alex Wilson, Brandon Workman and Steven Wright, catchers Dan Butler, Ryan Lavarnway and Christian Vazquez, infielders Garin Cecchini and Brock Holt and outfielders Jackie Bradley Jr., Bryce Brentz, Alex Hassan and Daniel Nava.
