What started out as a promising year for safety Matt Elam will once again end in disappointment.
Elam will miss the entire season after the Ravens placed him on injured reserve Monday. The former first-round pick appeared to finally be turning the corner this offseason but tore his biceps on the first day of training camp. The third-year safety was rated as one of the worst in the league last season by Pro Football Focus, but arrived at OTAs in the best shape of his life.
The Ravens also placed corner Chris Greenwood, tight end Allen Reisner, and linebacker Steven Means on injured reserve to help reach the 75-man roster limit by Tuesday's deadline.
