Rams release S Mikell
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The St. Louis Rams released safety Quintin Mikell and re-signed defensive tackle Jermelle Cudjo to a two-year contract on Monday.
Mikell, who signed a four-year deal with the Rams in 2011, was scheduled to make $6 million in 2013. The move saves the Rams $3 million in cap space.
The 32-year-old Mikell played in 32 games for St. Louis, recording 192 tackles, four sacks and a pair of interceptions. Prior to joining the Rams, he spent eight seasons with the Eagles.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Cudjo has played in 25 games since joining St. Louis as an undrafted rookie out of Central Oklahoma in 2010. He has 34 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks during that span.
