Rain is currently delaying play on Day 1 at the 2012 U.S. Open.

The opening-day schedule in New York features matches for top-seeded Roger Federer, No. 3 seed Andy Murray and American hopeful Mardy Fish. Federer is scheduled to meet American Donald Young, while Murray will encounter Russian Alex Bogomolov Jr. and the 23rd-seeded Fish will battle Japan's Go Soeda.

The 17-time Grand Slam king Federer is a five-time U.S. Open champion and captured his seventh Wimbledon title last month. The British star Murray beat the Swiss icon Federer in the gold-medal match at the London Olympic Games earlier this month and lost to Federer in the Wimbledon final last month.

Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal in last year's U.S. Open final. The Serbian slugger Djokovic is seeded second at this 2012 fortnight, while the Spanish great Nadal will miss the final major of the year because of knee problems.
