Top seed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland won a pair of matches Thursday at the Malaysian Open.
Rain each of the past two days had played havoc with the schedule, forcing Radwanska to complete her first-round match Thursday. She did so with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Uzbekistan's Akgul Amanmuradova. Next up was Czech qualifier Karolina Pliskova, and the fifth-ranked player in the world prevailed in a 6-4, 6-4 triumph to reach the quarterfinals.
Radwanska, coming off last week's title in Dubai, will next meet Taiwanese qualifier Su-Wei Hsieh in Friday's round of eight. Hsieh had advanced Wednesday with a second-round win over Australia's Casey Dellacqua.

Other second-round winners Thursday included second-seeded Jelena Jankovic of Serbia and third-seeded Peng Shuai of China.
Jankovic thumped American Jill Craybas, 6-2, 6-0, in just 65 minutes. She will next face Japan's Ayumi Morita. The sixth seed topped countrywoman Misaki Doi, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.
Peng rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory over Czech qualifier Kristyna Pliskova to set up a quarterfinal against Croatia's Petra Martic, who did not have to play Thursday after beating the rain and Japan's Kurumi Nara in the second round Wednesday.

Greece's Eleni Daniilidou and Australia's Olivia Rogowska will square off in the remaining quarterfinal match after each posted mild upset wins Thursday. Daniilidou eased past fourth-seeded Australian Jarmila Gajdosova, 6-4, 6-0, while Rogowska topped seventh-seeded Jelena Dokic of Australia, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). Dokic was the 2011 Kuala Lumpur champion.
This week's titlist will earn $37,000.
