After scoring touchdowns on its first two offensive drives of the Rose Bowl on Friday, the Stanford defense decided to get in on the fun.

On a third down in Stanford territory, Iowa QB C.J. Beathard dropped back and threw to his right. Stanford's Quenton Meeks jumped the pass and took it 66 yards the other way to give the Cardinal a 21-0 lead.

The 21 first-quarter points were a Rose Bowl record.
