Predators' O'Brien suspended for high-sticking incident

TORONTO (Reuters) - Nashville Predators defenseman Shane O'Brien was suspended two games for high-sticking Florida Panthers Stephen Weiss, the NHL said on Friday.

O'Brien, who was suspended for one game in November and is considered a repeat offender, high-sticked Weiss during a 3-2 loss on Thursday that snapped Nashville's six-game win streak.

The Predators defenseman will forfeit $39,024.40 in salary and miss Nashville's home-and-home series against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday and Sunday.
