With Monday's Game 6 against the Chicago Blackhawks poised to be their most important game of the season, the Nashville Predators are calling in reinforcements.
The team hopes its dedicated fans will make "Smashville" a loud and proud home at Bridgestone Arena (9 p.m. ET, VERSUS, TSN).
"The fans have been instrumental in getting us here," goaltender Pekka Rinne said of the Nashville fans. "They really are the seventh man and have pumped up all of us, especially me. The moment that really struck me was right before we came out on the ice in Game 3. The video was playing, the crowd was on their feet, and everyone had their rally towels going. It was deafening in there and that's when I knew Nashville was behind us, 100 percent."
"There's nothing like the roar of the fans as the Preds take the ice," Nashville Predators Chairman Tom Cigarran said. "The noise is deafening and totally exhilarating. Come out and support the Preds and make Bridgestone Arena the loudest, most intimidating arena in the NHL. We need the fans to become our seventh man."
Bridgestone is doing its part, buying 500 tickets for employees to show their support for the team and enjoy a great night of Stanley Cup Playoff hockey.
