Football Locker Room
Georgia authorities are investigating the attack of a junior varsity football player by several teammates inside a locker room, reportedly while coaches looked on.
News media outlets reported Friday that the teammates kicked the player, threw him headfirst into a trash can, and rolled the can down the hallway at Camden County High School. The reports said Monday's attack happened after football practice and that a portion of it was captured on video and posted on Snapchat.
According to the police report, teammates had attacked the player after he sat on the opposing team's sideline during a Camden County-Glynn Academy varsity game on Sept. 4, and wore the opposing team's color in support of his girlfriend, who is a Glynn Academy cheerleader.
The reports say an offensive coordinator and his assistant are accused of encouraging the attack.
