Polamalu, Miller agree to new contracts with Steelers; Pittsburgh also re-signs S Will Allen

Troy Polamalu and Heath Miller have agreed to new three-year contracts with the Pittsburgh Steelers that will keep them with the team through 2016.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed, but both figure to give Pittsburgh salary cap relief before free agency begins next week. The Steelers also agreed to terms with safety Will Allen.

Polamalu was scheduled to make $8.25 million in 2014 in the final season of a four-year contract he signed in 2011. The eight-time Pro Bowl safety is coming off a bounce back year in which he played in all 16 games after being limited by injuries in 2012.

Miller caught 58 passes for 593 yards and a touchdown in 2013 after sustaining a major right knee injury at the end of the 2012 season.
