Pistons' Stuckey has successful surgery on thumb
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Auburn Hills, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Detroit Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey underwent successful surgery Friday to repair a fracture of the distal phalanx on his right thumb.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Brian Najerian at DMC Surgical Hospital in Detroit. Stuckey will be required to wear a splint on his thumb for the next two weeks before being re-evaluated.
The Pistons have yet to announce a timetable for the veteran's return. Detroit begins its regular season against Washington on Oct. 30.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Stuckey, who has spent his entire seven-year career with Detroit, averaged 11.5 points, 3.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 76 games while primarily in a sixth-man role last season.
