Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled first baseman Matt Hague from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday. The club also optioned catcher Eric Fryer to Indianapolis to make room on the 25-man roster.
Hague has played 28 games for the Pirates this season, batting .235 with seven RBI before being sent to the minors on June 28.
Fryer appeared in just four games for Pittsburgh and was 1-for-3 at the plate in three pinch-hit appearances.
