Person rescued from roof of new Minnesota Vikings stadium

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minneapolis firefighters used a rescue basket, ropes and cables to free a person trapped on the roof of the Minnesota Vikings stadium that's under construction.

Fire officials say the person who fell into a rooftop crevice about 8 a.m. Wednesday was injured, but has been stabilized.

The fire department tweeted that another person was earlier taken to a hospital, but did not say if that person had also been on the roof. The department did not describe the nature of either person's injuries.

U.S. Bank Stadium is expected to open in the fall of next year.
