Terrell McClain claims the best part of his game is being disruptive.

That's something that was mostly missing on Carolina's defensive line last season.

The Panthers addressed one of their biggest needs Friday night with their first pick on the second day of the NFL draft, taking the South Florida defensive tackle in the third round.

The 6-foot-2, 297-pound McClain was a three-year starter with the Bulls, collecting 24 tackles and three sacks last season. He'll likely be asked to immediately step in and contribute.

Carolina released 2009 starters Maake Kemoeatu and Damione Lewis last spring and spent much of last season with a carousel of underwhelming players in the middle of the line.

The Panthers also hold the last pick in the third round.
