San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres have placed starter Ian Kennedy on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.
Kennedy exited his first start of the season in the middle of the third inning on Thursday after feeling a twinge.
"The whole time I felt something wasn't right," Kennedy said after the game. "I didn't feel a pop or anything, I just wasn't going to hurt my arm trying to change my mechanics."

Odrisamer Despaigne relieved Kennedy and pitched 4 2/3 perfect innings, but the Padres lost to the Giants 1-0 in 12 innings.
Kennedy, 30, posted a 3.63 ERA in 33 starts with the Padres last season.
The Padres also made several moves with their Triple-A affiliate in El Paso, as they sent down pitcher Nick Vincent, recalled pitcher Brandon Maurer and selected the contract of pitcher Chris Rearick.
