SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres have agreed to terms with right-hander Joe Ross, the second of their two first-round draft picks, as well as right-hander Michael Kelly and catcher Austin Hedges.
Ross, Kelly, and Hedges, three of the team's six top picks, agreed just before Monday night's deadline. Ross agreed to a $2.75 million signing bonus.
Kelly was selected in the compensation round and Hedges in the second round. The Padres also agreed to terms with their 14th-round selection, right-hander Burch Smith.
The Padres signed top pick Cory Spangenberg days after the draft.
Ross was selected 25th overall out of Bishop O'Dowd High in Oakland, where he posted a 0.83 ERA and 95 strikeouts in 67 2-3 innings of his senior season. He is the younger brother of Oakland Athletics right-hander Tyson Ross.
