Pachuca holds on to set up final with Leon

Mexico City, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Santos put together a late rally to claim a 4-2 second-leg win over Pachuca in the Liga MX semifinals, but the two sides finished 4-4 on aggregate with Pachuca advancing on away goals.

The result sets up a place in the Clausura final for Pachuca against Leon, which notched a pair of 1-0 wins over Toluca in the other semifinal.

Pachuca entered the second leg in a good position having won 2-0 at home in the first leg.

However, Rafael Figueroa scored 11 minutes into the match for Santos, which was reduced to 10 men in the 20th when Oswaldo Sanchez was sent off.

That allowed Pachuca to score twice before halftime with goals from Enner Valencia and Dieter Perez to take a commanding 4-1 aggregate lead.

But Walter Ayovi saw red for Pachuca in the 64th minute, and Santos began its comeback with a goal four minutes later from Juan Pablo Rodriguez.

Javier Penuelas closed the gap further with a goal in the 77th, and Rafael Figueroa scored in stoppage time to level things on aggregate, but there wasn't enough time for Santos to overcome the away goals tiebreaker.

Leon's 1-0 win over Toluca on Sunday came courtesy of a 51st-minute goal from Carlos Rodriguez, giving Leon a chance to add to a its Apertura title.
